Behind The Design
Footnotes
Deep hearted but unpretentious. Romantic but not kitschy. Personal but not all about your personality. Flowing but not without professionalism.
Meg and JJ, as a logo base, needs to feel friendly, relatable, caring and unostentatious.
This delicately designed logo adds a flow, a delicate signature, to an otherwise simple logo.
Making the focus on your names as well as the brand name is core for identity. Adding this flourishing loop throughout creates a sense of completion, from start to finish and draws the eyes to read the entire logo.
The hand drawn bouquet illustrations down below have a vintage print feel, as though made on old cyanotype photosensitive paper or block print. These serve to add depth or pause on the site along with being a beautiful accent.
A Brand In The Making
Explanation
There is a lot going on with voice and emotion in this one. It’s a passive, reflective voice with an active, future tense conclusion spoken in present tense.
Putting the reader into the text, using language that evokes nostalgic, familiar feelings which propels them into putting themselves in the same shoes, but in the future. We want them to get wrapped up in their own story. The crux? Those momentos they love will only come through hiring you. Someone who see’s the little things but captures them in that timeless way.
COLOR PALETTE
This palette plays on the primaries but does bring in a coffee bropwn along with the primary reds. Our standout color is absolutely this gorgeous Lobster along with Evergreen - two strong primaries rich with nostalgia, also hearkening to that pastoral, simple feeling. Dusky Sky calls to mind cloudless days. Overall, this collection catches the eye, staying away from overly energetic tones but being far away from sad beige. A balance that will complement a wide variety of images, allowing those to take center stage.

Footnotes
Meg and JJ are regular people - good neighbors and a small family. They love going on walks when the weather is nice, meeting up with friends for fire-baked pizza and late night talks with quiet music and a good drink.
They long for meaningful memories and relish the simple, universal joys of life. They meet you where you are.
This was the driving force behind the copy. Unembellished, approachable and human.
In design, they wanted a more minimal style with elements that make you think of your grandma's house - a place of love, homey-ness and memories. So, in keeping with that, we have doilies, picture frames and wallpaper-esque stripes. A home with real wood furniture, a timeless aesthetic and that feels intimately like home.
All this connects with an audience that wants to be seen and celebrated as they are, caring more about memories than likes.
